No, Spies All-Stars is not coming up next lol. I totally understand how cool that would be, but the way I think about it every game is already an all-stars cause the best past players come back. If I ever get enough past players to apply to a game to make a full cast out of them, then I might consider it in the future. Inspired by 5 topics from the Spies 5 after party. I decided I would make my own theoretical all-star cast! If you like you can make yours from the games you played in or are familiar with. I wanted to limit myself to 20, couldn't do it, so I tried 24. Couldn't do that either, ended up at 27! OMG this was agony to reduce the #s to just 27, I left out SO SO many amazing fantastic players, apologies! Here we go, in no particular order: Cassidy, Jenya, Julia, Soraya, Adriana, Candy, AnnelieseJessica, Jason, Tenchi, Samantha, Vladimir, Claire, TysonAriel, Rey, Singe, Jack, Gretchen, Georgia, Yuri, AdelaideLeticia, Davoni, Angus, Zander, Apollo

I think I would lose my mind if I had to play Julia and Jason at the same time! Glad to see that Candy is in this list, as she is clearly the most wonderful and amazing player in the history of the universe ; D But... DAVONI (Bitch!), too!?!? Adriana will be sad to face off against her again

If I ever get enough past players to apply to a game to make a full cast out of them, then I might consider it in the future. At this point I think you can, definitely after Spies 8. But I really want an All-Star game, with all the craziness, just with Alumni and playing with past characters without caring for Accusations! And I am signing the bring back Beverly petition!

Yay! Thank you Sam although I always thought Subhi was a fun character to play but was deeply flawed in terms of a social game. So good call with Ejaculaide! But Adelaide's Dreamcatcher thing made her famous or infamous. If I could be Adelaide again but with Dylan's accuracy and my experience of being a spy twice who knows the damage I could do to the spies. Replace Singe with Henry or Carly. Since Ryan and Trey have 2 characters there, take out Annieliese and take out Julia and replace them with Beverly and Gordy. Out of DC's characters my favourite was Darla and/or Bebe. Also where is Derek from spies 2 wasn't he a tad lovably insane? And Hannah the spies' best friend. And also Anton and well I won't name more in case I forget players and offend. Where is Grace/Emma/Bianca and all the other All Star idlers! They were champions lol Great thread

Ok I'll do one for ya. I'm going to be methodical about it. From each Spies game I will choose (in beautiful colour-coding): - One person who I don't think got a fair shot or could've done more than they did if circumstances were different.- One aggressive player who stamped their mark on the game.- One player who I didn't feel got proper appreciation.- One personal favorite, purely from the standpoint of personality.Without discriminating by alignment, role, gender, player, etc. Here's who I'd choose (bear in mind I'm going by the person being played, not the person playing them): - Spies 1: - I'd nominate Gerta and Sage for this position. My choice: SAGE, because I think he was a fantastic player who was unfairly done out of his shot, whereas Gerta fell on her own blade for the most part.- I'd nominate Soraya, Gurinder and Monica for the "aggresive player" position. My choice: SORAYA.- I briefly considered Marion and Emma, but I don't really think they did anything behind the scenes that got lost in the mix. Therefore by default my underappreciated player is, of course, GERTA, whose efforts were pretty much forgotten when the Miss Scarlett alliance took over.- My personal favorite, personality-wise, would have to be GURINDER.Which means that Monica, the counteragent and one of the best citizen roleplayers in seven series of Spies, doesn't make it in! That said, I don't think any of my choices would come as a shock to... well... anybody, really. But wait until later on... - Spies 2: - Wow, SO many choices for this spot. Davoni, Tiffany and Allison could justifiably fill it, but while I'd love to give my fellow spy some more props, my choice is none of those. Instead I choose WINSTON, who like Sage I feel played hard in the short time he was there but got singled out and cast out prematurely.- If you say "aggressive player" in this game, a lot of people would say that it would have to be Tyson or Adriana. Well sorry, but turning from a friendly and sincere if single-minded personality into a murderous psychopath in the space of one "psychic save" / "private investigator" showing doesn't necessarily count as "aggressive" in my book. Instead I gotta give this one to DAVONI.- Again, SO many players didn't get the appreciation they deserved here, primarily because they hated each other. Karl is an obvious choice, but I'm going to go with my NICOLE on this one.- My "personality": Rodney, Tyson or Tiffany? Rodney, Tyson or Tiffany? Hmmmmmmm... well Tyson and Tiffany stand out for using their personas well in gameplay terms (Rodney's was more detrimental to his game), but in my opinion one was head and shoulders above the other in terms of quotability. And you know it's TIFFANY. Haha, no contest. So Adriana, Karl and Tyson are all left without a place? As Kieno would say, like whoa. That's deep, dude. - Spies 3: - This was between Jakub, Judith and Jennipher. But in the end I think one did far more than the other two to deserve their place here; so our super-citizen who didn't get a fair shot is JUDITH.- Our aggressive player could only be one of three people really: Tenchi, Jessica and Bebe, the three most aggressive spies. It will surely be no surprise, then, that TENCHI takes this one by a mile.- Carrie, Jennipher, Claire and Raphael could all make the cut, being outshone by others on their respective sides. I'm torn between the two citizens, both of whom had great suspicions but didn't really get a chance to use them; but in the end I think one did a lot more than the other with what she had. Plus she's one of my favorite newbies. JENNIPHER takes the prize!- Ok the trouble here is that the two obvious nominees for "personality" are already through - Tenchi and Judith! As a result I find myself unable to decide on a player to fill this spot.Gasp! Only three players from Spies 3! What gives? Well, I think this calls for a WILD CARD: a slot for any nominee, from any game of my choice, who's missed out on their place here. For the moment, let's go on. - Spies 4: - Well while Gordy, Lloyd, Jeremiah and Sherri all have some claim to this spot, the first three have definite negatives in terms of mental stability (or lack thereof), whereas Sherri knew from the start that she'd be eliminated in the first round. Therefore our "could have done more" player is none other than RALPH, whose exile still ranks easily as one of the top five dumbest citizen exiles ever IMHO.- There are several aggressive players in Spies 4 deserving of this spot: Singe, Beverley and Zander in particular. But one player trumps them all. Love her or hate her, CANDY cannot be denied a place in my "best of" list!- Haha, I bet you thought I'd choose Zander for this one. But no, after the performance of the spies in Spies 4, this one wasn't going to one of them. Instead I had to choose between Summer and Damon. This one was tough, but in the end it had to be the more active SUMMER who took the prize.- In a massive shock that could cause ruptures in the very fabric of space and time, I am not giving the personality award to Beverley. Nor am I giving it to Martha, whose character disrupted her play. Instead, this one goes to my personal favorite diva BUNNI. Hope she and Candy don't kill each other too soon.- Spies 5: - This is the most difficult because I didn't play Spies 5 or follow it closely. But in the end it was an easy choice. CARLY was exiled in a moment of sheer idiocy for the citizens - albeit a triumphant one for the spies - robbing her of the "citizen superstar" status she so richly deserved.- Our aggressive player nominations are brief: Otto and Angus. And while I'd love to see Angus back, I feel as though his meltdown towards the end of the game takes him out of contention. OTTO gets the spot.- I don't know enough about Spies 5 to fill this spot, so by default it goes to another WILD CARD.- This was between Angus and Brody, but it's ANGUS who takes the spot for a truly original character.- Spies 6: - Now this one is tough. It's between Faith, Gabriela and Ellis, and yet I don't know how much more any of them could have done in the time that they had, nor were they taken out "unfairly". And while it pains me to make Paul the runner-up again, I've made it clear I'm not going to nominate somebody because of who's playing them. So instead I'm going to nominate YVETTE. A great personality who was effectively exiled because she had to go away for two days and the spies took advantage.- Our aggressive player could be Ellis (yes really!), Ariel, Kirsten, Georgia or Jason; but I don't feel as though any of those five really stamped their mark on the game in the same way that Soraya or Candy did. So this one goes instead to JENYA, who may not have been successful, but always made her mark.- Our under-appreciated player is a difficult pick. MeiYun, Gabriela and Thor were possibilities, but in the end I decided that each of them had had enough acclaim and had not done enough in excess of it to earn this spot. This goes to a WILD CARD pick.- The personal favorite award could have gone to Rey, Jason or Jenya, but there's one other person who really made a great impression as a personality. TIBERIUS takes this one.- Spies 7: - Our easy choice for the player who didn't get a fair shot is, I must admit, influenced by the person who played them. But hell, if I hadn't have chosen ALEX for being imprisoned first in Spies 7, I would've chosen Robert for the same reason in Spies 6.- Now while Cassidy and Julia joined a long, long line of super-aggressive female citizens (with the occasional spy thrown in - right spies4Bev / spies3Bebe?) I felt that both were outshone by the rightful winner here, whose early and exit only makes me more eager to see him come back and rock this game. HENRY, take a bow.- My player who didn't get enough appreciation would be between Hank, Dylan and Kathie. The winner, for identifying all seven spies in round five and getting zero credit for it during the game, has to be DYLAN!- So many great personalities to choose from! In the end (with Henry out of the running) it came down to Kieno, Kleyton, Sophi, Vladimir, Yuri and Kathie. But hey, it's my pick, and while I'd love to choose Kathie, she didn't have the chance to show her personality to the cits as much as to me personally. Yuri is out because he threatened to quit. Sophi wasn't so much a personality as a calculating machine, and Vladimir wasn't so much a personality as a sexual deviant. So instead our Asian surfer gal KIENO takes the prize. Nice going, bro!And now my WILD CARD ROUND! Remember, I only have three spots that I need to fill. So here are the nominations:
Spies2Allison, who I don't think got a fair shot as a spy. Spies2Karl, an underappreciated citizen and winner of Spies 2. Spies2Tyson, an aggressive spy who threw out conventional plays, and almost won as a result. Spies3Bebe, an aggressive role-hunting spy. Spies4Sherri, who could've ruled if she wasn't destined to be the first-round "fake" imprisonment in that game. Spies7Hank, another underappreciated citizen who helped to exile four spies.
And the winners are, strangely fittingly in the case of the last two:
HANK, ALLISON and TYSON!So here's the roll-call of all 28 players, 13 male, 15 female, 24 ex-citizens and 4 ex-spies: From Spies 1: Sage, Soraya, Gerta, Gurinder. From Spies 2: Allison, Tyson, Winston, Davoni, Nicole, Tiffany. From Spies 3: Judith, Tenchi, Jennipher. From Spies 4: Ralph, Candy, Summer, Bunni. From Spies 5: Carly, Otto, Angus. From Spies 6: Yvette, Jenya, Tiberius. From Spies 7: Hank, Alex, Henry, Dylan, Kieno. And here's how I'd arrange them for my own personal malicious amusement, were I some kind of omnipotent Spies God who was capable of doing such things: Spies: Soraya, Allison, Ralph, Bunni, Carly, Tiberius, Kieno.Spy-aligned Traitor: Jennipher.Assassins: Hank, Carly.Town Cop: Sage.Town Doc: Judith.Town Bodyguard (wheel of fortune?): Tyson.Town Masons: Davoni, Nicole, Tiffany. (The Evil Mutant Pancakes pt 2... wish I could've found space for Rodney and Antonio as well now.) Town Bulletproof (is guaranteed to survive one imprisonment attempt - because God knows he needs it): Alex.Town Gift Giver (Santa Claus): Henry.Plus, in a final riveting twist, I'd make Dylan a Town Dick Tracy, just because he deserves it for the picture he posted right before Tracy was exiled. Pheeew, that was long!

Love this thread.
Cuddles, thanks for acknowledging how underrated I was in Spies 6. My exile was SO frustrating because I was one of the Jaya exile masterminds (along with Ariel), and I was definitely one of the more informed Citizens thanks to being very very close with Rey and Jenya, and thus knowing a little more than most about the role situation. Note that (I think this is why, but I might be wrong) Jenya was fake-Imprisoned to get me exiled...

Borrowing from Yves: - One aggressive player who stamped their mark on the game. - One player who I didn't feel got proper appreciation. - One personal favorite, purely from the standpoint of personality.
Spies 1: - Miss Scarlett Alliance core members rocked this game: Monica, Gurinder, Soraya - I think Dawn was underrated. I think she truly had the potential to unlock the game even without counteragents. Same for Depley and Joshv1. - Spies 1 and Spies 4 were the most social games, I think. Lots of friendships and interpersonal dynamics. Maybe we got to know everyone because it was a small game (17 people). Emma was so fiesty. I loved her. I loved Marion too. Gurinder, of course, was exceptionally lovable. But Julian's social game was a step above, I think.
Picks: Depley, Soraya, Julian
Spies 2: - So many aggressive players. This game was nuts. Nicole, Allison, Adriana, Jenna, Tyson, and Davoni (BITCH!) were all hardcore and it's hard to choose just one. - Who didn't get proper appreciation ... Karl takes this one. He won the game for the Citizens, had a good head on his shoulders, didn't do the stupid role-claiming thing to everything that moved ... yes, I think Karl was the most underappreciated person in the game, no question. - My favorites in this game were Leo, Antonio, Derek (because he was so insane), Karl, Adriana, Jenna, Tyson, Allison (another sworn enemy!) and Tiffany. Lots of favorites here. Hard to choose just one as well.
Picks: Adriana, Davoni (BITCH!), Tyson, Karl, Derek
Spies 3: - The most aggressive Citizen players were Jack (Jack the Noble. Jack the Brave. Jack the True), Anneliese (ugh, so aggressive, she just wouldn't die! We had to imprison her, then exile her, then imprison her again before she was finally gone!), and Reicheru (damn you for unlocking the game at the end). All of the Spies but Raphael were aggressive - I'm not saying he didn't play a good game, I'm saying that he was more laid back about it, which worked very well with the group. So lots of choices here. - Underrated/unappreciated: Shane maybe? Raphael definitely. Audrey too since she seemed smart and we imprisoned her before she had a chance to even vote once. - Personality favorites: I liked Shane, Arthur (yes, Arthur - Ben is hilarious), and Bruce. I had a cute little dynamic with Raphael (we were an adorable almost-couple). I loved Trina. I did. She was like my sister in that game, and I was her evil Spy sister who was plotting her demise behind her back. So sad :-(
Picks: Anneliese, Jessica, Tenchi, Bebe, Claire (the aggressive players were just too good)
Spies 4: - THIS GAME WAS NUTS. Most aggressive players definitely Beverly, Candy, and Singe. But boy, did others play hard: Lloyd, Bunni, Zander, Gordy, Masaki, Jeremiah, Adelaide, Summer, Naomi, Angelica. - Gordy was underrated. He had insanely accurate spylists and spydar - the only person who threw him off was Beverly. I think Zander is a little underrated too. Probably Zander. - My character was not designed for personality, so I didn't bond with as many players as I would have liked. Inside the game my favorites were Angelica, Gordy, Beverly, Candy, and Kip; outside of the game my favorites also include Sherri, Hannah, and Damon. I never got along with Masaki (too creepy) and Singe (made me feel like a Spy). My favorite is probably Beverly because her social game was so huge.
Picks: Candy, Zander, Singe, Beverly (LOLLLLLLLL)
Spies 5: - Wow, lots of aggressive players in this game too: The Hydra of Bitches, some aggressive Spies, etc. The question is, who was effective? Angus was terrific at manipulating his way through after Sophia publically called him out in round 4. Samantha the Spy totally owned the game until she disappeared. Carly the Jackal is the epitome of the aggressive player. So they're at the top of that list. - In the shuffle of everything that happened I do think some players are underappreciated. Xavier, for one. He was a voice of reason in chaos. I think I was underrated as Darla, having rallied the troops to save the game at the end with my Delilah/Finn/Otto alliance. Donnie did very well and to this day no one knows why he was exiled. That says good gameplay. Paige was definitely underrated. That bitch had the best voting record in the game, nailing Spies left and right, but got killed over a stupid mistake. Plus she's played by Ben, who played Arthur, which makes her 3 times as cool. - So many personal favorites. In-game I loved Xavier, Otto, Donnie, Jillian, Leticia, Cy, Apollo, Jiselle cricket, Angus, and Samantha. I picked Apollo because I think he was the most universally-loved.
Picks: Carly, Angus, Samantha, Paige, Donnie, Apollo
Spies 6: - Kirsten and Jenya stamped their marks all over this game. Most of the later exiles centered around their moves (Iris, Thor, Levi, Rey, Khaled). Emmm ... yeah. - Gabriela was underrated. The granny would have been such a threat if she lasted. I don't think Tiberius was underrated because he spent half the game going "I don't know what's going on. Someone please catch me up." I chose Rey because I think he's underrated to everyone but himself. The guy who plays Rey is full of himself but in the context of Spies 6 I don't think he got enough appreciation in the end. - Tiberius was my personal favorite, personality-wise, but Jason did such a great job making everything work for him that you can't help but love the guy.
Picks: Jenya, Kirsten, Rey, Jason
Spies 7:
- Vladimir for most aggressive - Dylan for underappreciated - Julia for personality. Tee hee.
Picks: Vladimir, Dylan, Julia
Recap:
Spies 1: Soraya Julian Depley
Spies 2: Adriana Davoni Derek Karl Tyson
Spies 3: Anneliese Jessica Tenchi Bebe Claire
Spies 4: Candy Singe Zander Beverly
Spies 5: Apollo Carly Paige Angus Donnie Samantha
Spies 6: Jenya Rey Kirsten Jason
Spies 7: Julia Dylan Vladimir

spies7Julia = spies6Jason spies4Zander = spies3Anneliese Spies6Kirsten = Spies7Vladimir also. DC, I like your picks for the most part, but there is an air of "most obvious standout" among them which I was kinda trying to get away from (largely because Sam pretty much did the same thing, with a few surprises). But WHERE'S TIFFANY?!! EDIT: what might be a slightly more "interesting" thread would be to make a list of the people you absolutely wouldn't want to put in a Spies game, or anywhere else, ever again. (And by "interesting" I mean "would last at least five pages and end up with several people swearing not to play in any Spies game ever again.)

Yves, you're right that spies6Kirsten = spies7Vladimir, however, spies6Kirsten was not on Sam's list Regarding Tiffany: First off, I already had Trey in there twice (Julia/Jason). Secondly, I stand by my Spies 2 picks. Adriana/Karl/Tyson/Derek/Davoni (BIIIIIIITCH!!!!!) were my standouts. Regarding my list: I don't half-ass anything. If I was to have an All-Stars game, I would only want All-Stars in it! Yours was a very fun read though. Samson, LOL, I already did my roleplayers list with Subhi - remember my countdown after Spies 5? Holy crap, it must be impossible for Sam to pick from applicants. So much raw talent and entertainment value. Personally, I think the joy of this game comes from not knowing who the fuck this lunatic you're talking to actually is. If there were to be an All-Star game, I think it should be an all-Veterans game but with all new aliases. Save the old characters for cameos.

I agree with Henry. I think an All-Star game should feature new aliases. I don't want to know who everyone is already, because a lot of fun involves hiding behind characters, and metagaming plays a huge role in figuring out who is town or not.
As for Donnie... Katie faked the Donnie chat! There was the fake Donnie chat between the two of them, and then there was the real Donnie chat between him and me where he screwed up and didn't realize that I never told him the confirmed citizen and slipped up in knowing who it was. Also, both spies bussed Donnie in a 5-4 vote, when had they voted a citizen Delilah instead, it would have been LYLO going into the last round. I think that was a definite misplay.

Oh, I think an All-Star game should involve aliases simply because if it doesn't, I'm first dead.
Also, in the Donnie vote, everyone voted Donnie but Donnie himself and Samantha (who was away). No misplay.

I do agree that Darla was underrated. You correctly picked out Angus as the spy, not me, and then made sure, you, me, Deliah, Finn worked together to finish off Samantha, even though Katie the honorary spy had to die first. That's how I roll! I did it because I loved Paige and wanted to marry her.
